One of the best cold and flu preventatives to have in your medicine cabinet this winter is elderberry syrup. Although there are plenty of terrific store-bought options at your local health food grocery, it's so easy to make at home, why not!?! (Especially when the ginger is as beautiful and fresh as that I found at my local organic co-op grocery.)
Elderberries:
- are soothing and anti-inflammatory to the entire system
- are high in vitamin C
- are a wonderful antioxidant
- possess antiviral properties to fight colds and flu
